Speaker 1 00:00:01 Hello and welcome to a Wonder Care podcast. I'm Sheena Mitchell, pharmacist and mom of three. I combine healthcare and practical advice to support you on your parenting journey. This season is all about family skincare and it's proudly sponsored by real-life. Real-life. Believe your skin says how you feel, and this is so, so important as we explore family's skincare concerns. I just wanted to do a quick little extra episode because I came across the most amazing product that I have used in years for horrible, horrible feat. So if you follow me on Instagram, you will know that I went away on a little girl's holiday just after the kids' Easter break. So when they were back in school, basically mommy went missing and it was absolutely delightful in the lead up. It did occur to me that my feet have not been outside of runners pretty much for, you know, the guts of a year.
Speaker 1 00:00:59 And they were horrible and had been completely ignored because like every working mom who has time to be gone for pedicures and to be Molly coddling themselves to that level. Well, I certainly do not. So I got a rude awakening when I realized I would be in flip flops in a few days time. Crisis management came into play. I started using literally about five days before my holidays. You life. 50 cream for a localized hyperkeratosis, <laugh>, hyperkeratosis. What is that? You might be wondering. Basically it's a condition that causes the thickening of the outer layer of skin, which is made of keratin, all of that tough, horrible skin that is around your feet, usually around the ball of your foot and sometimes around your heels. That is hyper keratosis. So I started using the eLife 50 because it has lain, which is very good at softening skin and also urea.
Speaker 1 00:02:01 50%. Last year I recommended and a lot of people used and love the uri, 30% urea kesy cream for calloused skin. This product has 50%. It's really thick. And I have to say, when I was trying to get it outta the tube <laugh>, I was a little bit alarmed cuz you really do have to squeeze the tube to get it out. So maybe keep it somewhere a little bit warmer. I had it in a cold place before I went to use it, but basically it moisturizes and exfoliates the areas of skin that have thickened areas or plaques on them. So it is more of a paste than a cream. Use it once a day. So I did it at bedtime. I basically lathered it on and then put my bed socks on and it was amazing. Literally four days later, it was like my feet had never seen a callous.
Speaker 1 00:02:52 Now my friends will tell you that I am a little bit of a foot phobic. I absolutely hate feet. If someone's sitting on the couch beside me and they're not wearing shoes and they put their feet up on the couch, I'll leap up off the couch in fright. Like I know that's ridiculous. And my friends always laugh and wonder how the hell I look at, you know, rashes or athlete's foot or whatever in the pharmacy, and weirdly work Sheena can go into work mode and look at a foot that is completely rashy or whatever. I have no problem doing that. But when I am relaxed and I am at home, if a uns shooted foot comes near me, I get absolutely traumatized. If you are like me and just have neglected your feet for whatever reason, and you're getting into flip flops or sanded soon, you like 50, you'll thank me later. I'm gonna pop a note in the show notes. You're gonna love it. It is a miracle Cream.
