[00:00:04] Hello everyone, and welcome to season three of a Wonder Care podcast. A Wonder Care podcast? What? That's not what this was called. [00:00:13] Well, a Wonder Baba podcast has rebranded. We will be bringing you season three under the new name Wonder Care. And why, you might be asking yourself, why have you changed your name after ten years? And the reason is that over the course of the pandemic, I was supporting a lot of people online with their healthcare and it didn't limit itself to babies anymore. Basically, we had a lot of people get in touch with us who were in the over 65 group or who were immunocompromised and cocooning. And basically I just felt that we have maybe outgrown our name of Wonder Baba. So I want to make it a bit more inclusive. And the reason I want to do that is because delivering healthcare in a very accessible way is my passion. And if I can help more people, then I suppose, look, it's just something I'm going to be really proud about. So here we are. I'm still going to be focusing very, very much on family health, and season three is going to be full of information on different infectious diseases. So we're starting off on Wednesday the 1 February, and I'll be talking all about noravirus, which is the winter vomiting bug. I'll be discussing everything from the signs, symptoms, which I know a lot of people know, but also the different kinds and triggers and basically how it spreads, how you get it, how you treat it, and if you need to see the doctor or not. I'm going to try and keep these episodes quite snappy for you so that you can use them as a reference if an illness comes up. I also encourage people to listen as they go because it's basically like a crash course in kids health. So I'm going to explain all these conditions in what I like to call normal language rather than medical jargon. And that just means that you're more prepared to spot diseases and treat diseases when they come up. That's my goal. Some of the other topics that I'll be covering over the next few weeks include hand, foot and mouth disease, chickenpox, conjunctivitis, impetigo, measles, slap cheek, molluscum, contagiosum, and even cold sores. So, yeah, it's fairly packed, so it's going to be a very busy season. I also have a couple of fun episodes lined up because, you know, as much as I like sitting here and giving you 15 minutes full of info, actually just love to talk to other human beings as well. And I have a couple of guests lined up that I know you're going to enjoy the chat with and listening to. There'll definitely be some giggles, and I'm really excited about that. I really want to thank salon plus for coming back to support me in season three. I absolutely could not do this without the sponsorship of some of the companies of products that I already recommend, and I'm so grateful to them. And it just shows that they care as much about family health as I do and about making healthcare accessible. So I'm really, really grateful for them for coming on board for a second season, and I do hope to work with them again at some stage. In case you missed previous episodes, I think it's no secret that salon plus is one of my favorite products. It's the world's 1st 100% natural dry salt therapy device. It is clinically proven to relieve a wide range of allergens and respiratory conditions. Salt therapy has been trusted for generations and is hugely popular worldwide now as more and more people recognize the superb results achieved from a natural and noninvasive method. So this device will help you breathe easier and sleep better. I have to say, I didn't change the filter in my nine year old salon plus recently and I was late to do it. And boy, could I tell. All of a sudden congestion was back, irritation. She wasn't sleeping as well. It was taking me a while to figure out what is going on and I realized that the last time I changed the filter, I didn't update the alarm on my phone. So yeah, once I put it together, I was delighted and changed the filter. And yeah, her symptoms are so much better now. And I know for her because she particularly suffers with hay fever. Salon plus is a big hay fever product for us in our house because a lot of us suffer with it. And she also has a dust allergy. So in general it's been really helpful. But I know we're coming into the time of year. Oh my God, I'm so excited that I'm talking about spring. Sorry, I'm really, really weirdly into the nature this year. I think it's because it's the only thing giving me hope. There's buds and flowers coming up, but it's very exciting, all very positive. [00:04:45] So yes, for me, summer is coming. I told you before, I only have two seasons, Christmas and summer. So Christmas is over. So we're coming into summer now. And with summer comes pollen and with pollen comes hay fever. And for me, with hay fever, there is always salon plus to help alleviate symptoms do remember if you have a salon plus to change the filter every four months. Otherwise it's just sitting there fanning the air around your room. So it is important to do it the way I do it is I set a reminder in my phone that's also a New Year's resolution to get better at remembering to do that because I don't want to go back to where we were there a month ago when I wasn't on top of things. Right? Other than that, for season three, there's no major changes other than our name, which is a pretty big one. But I do love the new name, so I'm quite excited about that. We also have a new logo. Very exciting. I'll be giving you episodes full of information and lots of healthcare advice. And then I'll also be doing two things. You'll be able to get in contact with me and get involved in the podcast in two ways. The first is every week I'll be putting off a questions box on Instagram about the topic that's going to be released next week. So keep an eye on my Instagram Stories because a story will pop up that has a question box in it and says, okay, I'm going to be recording about Chickenpox this week. Get your questions in and you can then basically submit your questions to me. And at the end of the episode, I'll take time to answer those questions. Another thing that you can do is ask any random question you want. Kind of has to be in the healthcare area, to be honest. Like, don't ask me to pick your car. I know my limitations. [00:06:19] So the way you're going to do that is by voice note. So this is a fun way. We have a new WhatsApp number, and it's especially for the podcast. So you can send a WhatsApp voice note to the number 860-35-3462 so I'm going to say that one more time, in case you didn't have your pen ready, it's 860-35-3462 you can send a voice note on there about any health concern you're having with your child or yourself or grandparent. Anything. You just send a little voice note. If you want to remain anonymous, I would definitely recommend keeping out personal details and names. So just give me the situation like my daughter has really bad tummy pains and give me all the information that you can, and I will then either just talk about your question and answer it at the end of a podcast, or I'll play your voice note and answer it that way. It's up to you. I'll ask you before I do that, so don't worry. It's a safe space. But yeah, look, these are just really fun ways to make the podcast a little bit more interactive. And I'm going to pretend it's for your benefit, but it's probably for mine. Like, if you saw the lack of glamour and interaction I have in this room talking to myself for months and months on end, you would see why I need a bit of interaction. So do absolutely send me a query and I will include that at the end of an episode and get that answered for you. I really hope you enjoyed this season, and if you are a fan of the podcast, or if you just find it useful and you just like to access it every now and again to hear about a topic, I would be really, really grateful if you could subscribe or review the podcast. So depending on what streaming platform you're on, they'll ask you to follow or subscribe or whatever. But by doing that, it actually really helps to bump the podcast up in the streaming platform rankings, and that enables it to reach more people. My aim with this podcast is to reach as many people as possible so that I can help create a space where people can access healthcare at a time that suits them. Podcasts are amazing. You can listen to them doing the laundry for a walk, or if you're in a panic on a Saturday night and it's 09:00 and there's no doctor available, that's what this podcast is for, and I just need your support to help get it out there. So please do leave a review if you can. Thank you so, so much, and I really look forward to talking to you over the next few months.
